Are you already thinking about Christmas? If so, why not plan a weekend break Norfolk way and get all your festive shopping done in one go? Holt in North Norfolk is the perfect place to pick up some presents, thanks to its range of wonderful gift stores and boutiques full of things for the home.
For Christmas hampers and deli goods, there's a lovely little bistro right in the centre of town, while Bakers and Larners on the High Street also has a wealth of fabulous festive food on offer. As visitors to Hotels in North Norfolk will already be aware, Holt is also home to a range of children's clothes and toys stores, with the Pied Piper at the end of the High Street a great place to find stocking fillers, as well as Mini Milou in Appleyard which has some lovely clothes and traditional wooden toys.
While you're sorting out the shopping, why not treat yourselves to a stay in one of the Norfolk Luxury Hotels, as there are plenty of lovely places which will put you up in the area. Holt is home to all sorts of accommodation or, if you'd rather stay by the sea, Blakeney and Cley also boast some great hotels and B&Bs. Wherever you lay your hat, you'll find plenty to see and do here, from lovely bracing walks along the coast to cosy cafes offering warming drinks such as hot chocolate and mulled wine.
But back to the shopping - there's a fairly new store on Holt High Street which will sell you some old-fashioned sweets, while if it's wine you're after, Adnams Cellar & Kitchenstore in Lees Yard is the place to head for. And then there are the galleries - there must be at least a dozen here - where you'll find everything from individual art cards and bespoke jewellery to fabulous centrepieces for your home.
In fact, stay in one of the North Norfolk Hotels and you should be able to wrap up your Christmas shopping in a single day - just make sure you get to Holt early, though, as plenty of other people will have the same idea!
