Next time you're on a weekend break Norfolk, make sure you book in for a show at one of the local theatres. But don't expect anything too parochial, as, although you'll be staying in the heart of the lovely Norfolk countryside, the entertainment matches that of many big cities.
As the season changes from summer to winter, visitors to North Norfolk Hotels can expect a change of scene at Norfolk's theatres, too. In Cromer, for example, the Pavilion Theatre on the pier, will soon be showing its Christmas Seaside Special, a variety show full of comedy, music, songs and dance which promises something for every member of the family. Before this, there's a host of other shows on the pier, too, with many names that you'd expect to find at the seaside, such as Barron Knights and Jimmy Tarbuck.
Those staying in hotels in North Norfolk will also no doubt be aware of the famous Thursford Christmas Spectacular - billed as "the ultimate Christmas musical experience" and without doubt the most popular festive show in the country. This extravaganza of songs, carols, dancers, costumes, music and so on attracts visitors from all corners of the UK and sells out well in advance, so if you're keen to get into the festive spirit, make sure you make your reservation soon. There are a number of other theatres in the area, too, from the Sheringham Little Theatre where this year's pantomime will be Aladdin, to The Auden Theatre in Holt which hosts everything from school productions to full-blown professional plays.
There aren't too many cinemas in North Norfolk, to be honest, but the theatre in Sheringham does show films from time to time (those coming up soon include Robin Hood and Sex and the City 2) and then screenings take place in other, smaller venues around the area - the Holt WI holds film screenings in the Holt Community Centre on a regular basis, for example, and there's also a multiplex in Fakenham which shows the usual fare.
So if you are planning a trip to one of the Norfolk Luxury Hotels, don't think you'll miss out in the evenings, as there's plenty on offer in this part of the world, and it's fine for all the family.
