Laura celebrates 20 years in the business

A huge congratulations to our Central Reservations Manager and all-round legend, Laura, who is celebrating 20 years working with the business.

Laura started her journey working at Byfords in 2005, and has been an integral part of the team ever since. She’s been there through everything; expansions, renovations, and a lot of change to the day-to-day running of the business, but remains as enthusiastic and positive as the day she started.

For many guests, she’s the first person they speak to. Known for her warmth, patience, and positivity, Laura is the friendly voice at the end of the phone who somehow makes a stay feel personal before the guest arrives. From restaurant manager to B&B manager to head of central reservations and recruitment, she’s grown with the business and helped shape what it means to feel truly welcome at Byfords. 
 

Laura‘s connection to guests is at the forefront of her work: “Although I don’t work front of house anymore, I still keep in touch with those visiting Byfords when I book their stay over the phone.” Over the years, she’s helped create memorable moments for thousands of guests, but the regulars have stuck with her the most: "Welcoming regular guests back to Byfords is always so lovely; it felt like welcoming friends into your own home.” 
 

Laura now manages Central Reservations, and the team couldn’t be luckier to have her. Thank you Laura, here’s to the next 20!
